Will the emissions actions win?

the emissions actions win

Will the emissions actions win? Given that the original Volkswagen “Dieselgate” scandal Group Litigation Order (GLO) proceedings settled last year, we believe they will.

In fact, we are so confident that we can succeed with the various emissions actions we have started that we are working on behalf of thousands of clients on a No Win, No Fee basis. However, time is running out for taking on new cases – please be warned that deadlines for joining the cases are set to fall very soon. You risk running out of time if you have not already taken action.

Find out if you can still claim by completing a few forms on our website here now.

UK Volkswagen “Dieselgate” settlement 2022

If you want to know if the emissions actions will settle or not, you only need to look at the 2022 major settlements that took place arising from the original Volkswagen “Dieselgate” scandal.

In case you were not aware, tens of thousands of claimants settled their cases last year. They were the ones who were engaged in the first Group Litigation Order (GLO) action that we were appointed to the steering committee for in 2018. Many of those who settled their cases were clients of ours previously.

So, if you want to know if the emissions actions will win or not, whilst we will go into additional details about other carmakers below, it is clear that they can, given last year’s settlement.

Major question: will the emissions actions win for other carmakers?

Another question people are asking is if the emissions actions with other carmakers that are involved in the wider “Dieselgate” scandal will settle.

There are now dozens of carmakers that have been implicated in behaviour that could be similar to that which Volkswagen has been accused; the basis of the case that settled last year. Whilst VW settled that action with no admissions of liability, which is quite common in large actions of this nature, we do know that different carmakers may have behaved in different ways. Ultimately, if any behaviour constitutes cheating emissions regulations, that is when we may be able to establish a successful case against them.

Time is running out: claim now

We have been issuing this warning a lot lately, and we must keep repeating it as time really is running out to start your emissions compensation claim. As things stand, as you are reading this article, you may already be out of time or it may be too late to join. But, please do not simply dismiss pursuing a case because you should take action as soon as possible to make sure that you could have the chance of securing thousands of pounds in damages.

There is more to it than simply signing up to register your case, as we will need documentation and evidence, and certain documents completed. The longer you leave it, the greater the risk is that you miss out, and we know that many people will miss out. We continue to get enquiries from people who should have joined the first GLO action we mentioned above that settled in 2022, and we are forced to turn them away.

Start the process as soon as you possibly can and follow the instructions for your evidence and information requests that we require by completing a few forms here now. Pay close attention to the further correspondence thereafter so we can try to get the case set up and join you to the action if you are in time to be able to do so.
