Mercedes Benz has settled a diesel claim in US

Mercedes Benz has settled

It has been reported that Mercedes-Benz has settled a diesel legal action in the US state of Arizona in the sum of $5.5 million.

The news that Mercedes-Benz has settled this particular diesel claim will no doubt come as positive news for those who can benefit from the resolution. In terms of the worldwide fight for emissions justice, we see this as positive news, and we often cover these stories when a settlement has taken place.

We have a separate legal jurisdiction here in England and Wales to the US, so the settlement does not really have any direct impact on us here. For anyone who has yet to sign up for their No Win, No Fee emissions compensation case, you can do so by completing a few forms here now.

Report from US: Mercedes Benz has settled a Diesel Ad claim

According to Reuters, Mercedes-Benz has settled a Diesel Ad claim in the sum of $5.5 million in the US state of Arizona. It is understood that the proposed settlement could result in each qualifying claimant receiving up to $625 per vehicle.

Although the German automotive giant has continually denied any allegations that have been made against it, Mercedes-Benz has settled the action with no admission of liability at all in any event. As such, they effectively continue to refute the allegations that have been made, but they have paid out, and that is the important thing.

We see any news of settlements from around the world as positive even though they do not directly impact our legal actions taking place here in the UK. As such, we are pleased to see this news.

The UK fight for emissions justice

The major UK fight for emissions justice has been ongoing for several years now, and we have been at the forefront of it since the “Dieselgate” scandal first emerged in 2015. Since news of the scandal came to the press and hit the headlines, we have been representing clients for compensation claims on a No Win, No Fee basis. We knew right from the start that there were valid compensation claims to pursue, which is why we took claims forward proactively rather than just registering people’s interests like a lot of other law firms did. Because of this, we were the first law firm in England and Wales to formally issue High Court proceedings against Volkswagen in January 2016. We were later appointed to the steering committee responsible for the overall conduct of the first GLO in the UK also.

For our clients who we represent, this means that they can trust that we are Leading Car Emissions Lawyers who have been fighting for their rights since the start of the Dieselgate scandal. We will continue to fight for the rights of our clients as we look to hold any carmakers to account for any cheating behaviour.

How to sign up for your legal case now

If you have yet to start your emissions claim for compensation, make sure you do so as soon as you possibly can to avoid missing any time frames or court-imposed cut-off points. The first GLO that involved Volkswagen settled in 2022, and many people missed out because they did not sign up for a case when they could have done right at the start.

There can be several deadlines that people need to meet, so the best thing to do is start your emissions claim for compensation by completing a few forms on our website here now.
