Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation action

First published by Admin on September 01, 2020 in the following categories: Emissions News

As part of the Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation action, we are now representing a group of current and former owners and lessees for emissions compensation claims.

Mercedes is accused of using technology that could amount to a so-called defeat device in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. They strongly deny that they have done anything wrong, but we consider that there is enough evidence and information to investigate cases.

Since launching our action for justice, we have received a huge number of enquiries from concerned drivers. We are taking cases forward with No Win, No Fee representation, and we recommend anyone affected by these issues to start a case as soon as possible.

About the Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation

The Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation action is for owners and lessees, former and current, of Mercedes diesel models that may be affected by the emissions issues to claim. What we are investigating is whether the vehicles contain technology that amounts to a defeat device in the law of England and Wales. If so, it may be the case that the vehicles are polluting more dangerous NOx than expected, with models passing emissions testing when they shouldn’t be.

The parent company for Mercedes, Daimler, disputes that they have done anything wrong. However, you may be aware that Volkswagen did the same thing and, just recently, the technology that they used was established to be a defeat device in the High Court of Justice.

Further, VW’s attempt to appeal this key decision was refused.

We can only compare the two emissions issues to some extent. Just because the court cases against VW are progressing in favour of the Claimants doesn’t mean the same will happen for Mercedes, as it will depend on how any alleged software or technology works. We can take positives from the VW decisions in general, and we can also look to settlements and court decisions in the US and Germany as well.

Why join our compensation action?

There are many good reasons as to why you should join the Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation action if you are eligible to do so. These include that:

  • NOx is dangerous to human health and to the environment. If Daimler has been cheating emissions regulations, they should be held to account;
  • As we have seen with VW cases, there could be an impact on residual vehicle values due to the emissions issues, and performance may be adversely affected after recalls. If this is the case, people deserve to be compensated;
  • For some clients who may be eligible to claim under certain regulations, pay-outs could be up to £96,000.00 depending on the findings of the court.

We are also working on a No Win, No Fee basis. As such, if you are eligible to join the Your Lawyers Mercedes compensation action, what have you got to lose?
