Will there ever be an end to the new developments in the worldwide Volkswagen Emissions Scandal – dubbed “dieselgate” – that continues to plague the German automotive giants?
With new developments appearing on an almost daily basis, we’re wondering if there ever will be!
New reports allege that Porsche – who are owned by VW – may also have equipped some of its gas models with an alleged “defeat device” which is not something that is particularly new to us anyway. If it’s found to be true though, the problems for VW are only going to get worse…

VW management board under scrutiny…
The latest twist in the VW car emissions scandal surrounds further criminal investigations made against management at the German auto makers at the centre of the “dieselgate” emissions scandal.
Many VW officials on the management board are now subject to criminal investigations in the U.S. as the world holds its breath to find out just who knew what, and how much was known…

VW may never hear the end of the cheating emissions scandal, as far as I’m concerned!
Recently elected London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, wrote a letter to the German automakers asking them to compensate the Transport for London (TfL) £2.5 million.
This is on top of the thousands we act for, as well as the hundreds of thousands worldwide all asking for their fair share of justice.

In the midst of a closing $14.7 billion settlement deal across the pond, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is obtaining approval from a federal judge to question the VW Group further in relation to evidence.
This is following allegations that the automaker deliberately destroyed documents in relation to the diesel scandal which, if found to be true, could have monumental consequences for the German automotive giants.
It’s now for the courts to decide whether VW did take part in such appalling action…

The French manufacturer, Renault, may be subject to the next ‘big car emissions scandal’.
Recently, DGCCRF, the French anti-fraud investigators, referred Renault to prosecutors in what seems to be a deja vu scenario with VW. The reason for the referral is because allegations have arisen surrounding alleged abnormal emissions of the NOx pollutants from their diesel engines.

The German VW investigations have reached another development as VW’s chairman of the supervisory board, Hans Dieter Potsch, has allegedly violated securities laws, which is being investigated in the criminal probe launched earlier this year in June.
The ongoing headache for the German car giants isn’t set to end anytime soon. With 11 million vehicles affected worldwide, this is one of the biggest scandals in history, and the importance of both civil claims and criminal investigations has never been more prominent.

The pressure has been continually piling on for the VW Group as they have been given deadline after deadline for rectifying the vehicles, including recently 80,000 larger and luxury diesel-powered 3.0 litre vehicles involved in the ongoing emissions scandal.
As we continue to fight for the rights of victims here in the UK, we expect far better results than what we have had so far.

After the U.S. District Judge, Charles Breyer, approved of the $14.7 billion settlement in the U.S., VW may have thought that the dust was about to settle a little in terms of this ongoing scandal.
But we always seem to have something to blog about, as more and more developments about the scandal are coming to light all the time. In this latest story, Californian authorities are directly accusing Audi of being complicit in the use of so-called “defeat devices” for CO2 emissions as well!

It’s amazing how VW can appear to use deflective techniques in an attempt to move on from the emissions scandal while refusing their customers – i.e. the victims – their right to compensation. With their new electric vehicles project and the settlement agreement in the U.S., it seems as if VW believe they are recovering well from the scandal.
But this is far from the truth, as the company continues to fend off legal proceedings in multiple jurisdictions, and we won’t be backing down!

VW have taken contrasting approaches when it comes to compensating their victims.
In the U.S., there has been a settlement of $15 billion approved by U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in recent weeks. Yet, here in Europe, and in the rest of the world, VW continue to refuse to enter in to settlement negotiations.
And we agree!
VW’s nightmare continues – there is no smoke without fire.
The German manufacturers are forced to defend themselves after the European Commission claimed that its recent software fix on the affected vehicles could actually further damage the vehicles’ engines.
We’re acting for thousands of clients affected by the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal, and we can tell you now that there is a disturbing trend where recalled vehicles are having problems.
This is exactly what we feared; and suspected.

VW’s $15 billion settlement offer for their cheating in the emissions testing back in September last year has been approved in the U.S. courts.
The U.S. has a totally different jurisdiction to the UK, so this doesn’t direct help the situation here in Europe, but we remain confident we will be able to win our action anyway. For us, it’s just a matter of time, and we believe the U.S. settlement has taken place earlier because of the huge fines VW were being threatened with over there that our government here seem too shy to do!
