Volkswagen’s commitment to settlement in the U.S. continues to anger UK victims!

Right now, we’re acting for thousands of people affected by the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal here in the UK. We’re confident we will win the cases, but, at the moment, Volkswagen is trying to dispute responsibility for paying people.
Obviously this is totally unfair; especially when you look at their progress in the U.S. where settlement packages are being negotiated.

Volkswagen is entering in to negotiations with individual States with talks to begin no later than November this year for environmental claims. A spokesperson said that Volkswagen are “committed to reaching a fair and efficient resolution” with claims to be considered in a federal court.
On top of the fact it’s just not fair that victims outside of the U.S. are not being offered compensation at this stage, there is also the notion that, if other countries do reach settlements, they may not be as high as the ones currently floating around in the U.S.
We can never be 100% certain, and we can never know for sure exactly what may happen – but we’re confident that we’ll win the cases. In law, we cannot see how Volkswagen have any leg to stand on in terms of a defence, and all the expert evidence and information from our clients so far all point toward the fact that the recall is causing, and will continue to cause, problems.
These problems will only add to the accelerated depreciation vehicles have already seen off the back of the scandal, which has triggered one of the biggest legal actions in the history of the world. When Volkswagen – one of the wealthiest organisations in the world – decided to cheat the system with “defeat devices” in order to get round emissions regulations, the result on both the consumer and the planet has been monumental.
The loss and anger suffered by the consumers is bad enough – but NOx is a serious pollutant that can have a serious affect on our planet.
Volkswagen will not get away with this. We’re acting for thousands of people here in the UK and we’re leading the fight for justice.
