Volkswagen Emissions Scandal – will dieselgate victims win the battle for compensation?

  • Top brass at Volkswagen knew about the emissions cheating as early as 2014
  • The existence of the cheat devices was an “open secret”
  • VW sales down on the previous year (14% quoted so far) with competitors enjoying a good start to the year

Despite all of this, and despite the fact that the law is (in our minds) very clear in terms of the responsibility that Volkswagen has to compensate people, they are refusing to offer victims affected by their cheat devices any compensation at all.

So what does this mean for the victims?

Put it this way – we’re working for thousands of people all on a no win, no fee basis; we would not be doing this unless we were confident that we could win the cases.

Our lawyers and legal team can describe the sudden u-turn from Volkswagen, who are now refuting any idea of compensation, in one word: madness.

In December 2015 Volkswagen Chief Executive Officer, Mr Matthias Mueller, had this to say:

“We’re working on an effective package for all our customers. There will be an attractive package, let’s call it compensation, for the reduction in value of cars.”

This was announced at a press conference that was broadcast globally. But this is now being described by Volkswagen as a “mistranslation” as they allege that the value of vehicles affected by the emissions cheating scandal have not been adversely affected.

Well, we can tell you from both deductive logic and from evidence presented by many of our own clients that the idea that vehicle values have not been affected is wrong.

Our action will not stop; our action will keep on growing

We’re still more than happy to accept new cases because we remain highly confident that we will succeed. The millions of victims of vehicle owners out there who have fallen victim to a deliberate scam that was designed to misrepresent emissions results so that the affected vehicles passed testing deserve compensation for what has happened.

We’ve helped thousands of people for recall and product claims in the past, and although the law allows victims of accidental and negligent actions to claim, it’s always worth remembering that this scandal has stemmed from the deliberate use of cheat devices that were designed to pull the wool over people’s eyes.

If you want to join our action please contact us as soon as possible to avoid missing any upcoming court deadlines.
