Campaigners say that the British government is wrongfully failing to investigate pollution levels from vehicles in the aftermath of the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal.<\/p>\n

We know there are differences between the results the lab tests produce and the real world conditions, but in light of what has happened with the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal, environmentalists are saying that more could have been done, and more should be done moving forward.

\nIndependent testing that helped to uncover the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal found that some vehicles were producing 40 times more NOx<\/strong> than they were supposed to be doing. That’s a significant increase – and it’s worth remembering that 11 million Volkswagen Group vehicles are affected worldwide, and they had been getting away with it for around six years.<\/p>\n

People are rightfully asking how this has even happened in the first place. Like a lot of the group actions we’ve been involved in the past, just one surprise independent test that didn’t follow the standard pattern could have identified something was wrong.<\/p>\n

Even in the wake of the scandal the UK government hasn’t really done a great deal to punish the German automotive giants. It’s abundantly clear to us that the current testing system is woefully inadequate; which is sad, because we really ought to be doing all we can to protect our environment and our planet.<\/p>\n

The government may not be taking this seriously, but we are!<\/p>\n
