The Fiat Chrysler allegations<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group, which comprises of manufacturers including Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Lancia, and Ram Trucks, has been subjected to allegations that they have cheated emissions tests. The accusations, similar to those levelled at the first suspected carmaker in the wider \u201cdieselgate\u201d scandals from 2015, Volkswagen, concern the alleged use of defeat devices. This could be by the use of a form of software used in certain car models to reduce the emissions output during testing but allowing emissions output to far exceed regulatory limits when on the road.<\/p>\n

If the suspicions are true, the FCA group may have contributed to the release of excessive toxic NOx (nitrous oxide) into our already polluted atmosphere. As a result of the ozone pollution, Fiat Chrysler could be implicated in the worsening of human health, particularly respiratory health, and for potentially causing damage to plant growth and the natural harmony of ecosystems, if the allegations are found to be true.<\/p>\n

Fiat Chrysler emissions claims for compensation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fiat Chrysler emissions claims could allow affected car owners to hold the manufacturer responsible for any alleged deceitful practices that they may have engaged in. Although Fiat Chrysler has vigorously defended claims and the litigation it has faced, so did Volkswagen. In the VW case, it was eventually established by the High Court that the software used amounted to a defeat device.<\/p>\n

The Italian government has also faced allegations of failing to enforce emissions regulations with respect to Fiat Chrysler, and could face action from the EU.<\/p>\n
