We recently reported that Japanese car giants Mitsubishi have also admitted to cheating emissions results<\/a> in a scandal similar to the Volkswagen one.<\/p>\n

Internal investigations found that employees had been manipulating results of emissions testing, and in the wake of the scandal, they have since admitted that they’ve been doing it for 25 years – i.e. back to 1991!<\/p>\n

In the wake of the admission, domestic orders of vehicles have halved<\/strong>, and their share value has also halved<\/strong> as well.
\n
\nResignations are yet to happen but the company will reportedly face significant fines. They recognise how serious this matter is, and with the additional admission that they’ve been cheating since 1991, it’s no surprise that the impact so far has been huge.<\/p>\n

It’s a scandal that has the same connotations as the VW one that we are acting for. We’re acting for thousands of victims and our group action<\/a> was launched with the High Court of Justice earlier this year.<\/p>\n

We’re keeping an eye on the Mitsubishi scandal as well, although our understanding so far is that the victims are based in Japan. If UK victims arise then we will be looking to fight for their rights to compensation as well, but we are now looking in to shareholder claims for any UK shareholders in any event.<\/p>\n

Seriously: who’s next!?<\/h2>\n

We said right from the start that we expect other manufactures will end up getting caught for doing the same thing. Our concerns came to light with the announcement of the Mitsubishi admissions, and we now wait patiently for the big question on everyone’s lips: who’s next!?<\/p>\n
