What we are investigating is whether the vehicles contain technology that amounts to a defeat device in the law of England and Wales. If so, it may be the case that the vehicles are polluting more dangerous NOx than expected, with models passing emissions testing when they shouldn\u2019t be.<\/p>\n

The parent company for Mercedes, Daimler, disputes that they have done anything wrong. However, you may be aware that Volkswagen did the same thing and, just recently, the technology that they used was established to be a defeat device in the High Court of Justice.<\/p>\n

We can only compare the two emissions issues to some extent.
